About Us

Signal Point Home Care is a local, family owned and operated licensed non-medical, in home care provider serving Chattanooga, Cleveland, Dayton, South Pittsburgh, Jasper, Whitwell and surrounding areas. We are proud members of The Senior’s Choice Network, the nation’s largest membership network of independently owned home care agencies. Membership in The Senior’s Choice Network gives our caregivers access to the industry’s finest training programs, including the Certified Companion Aide (CCA®) and Certified Hospice Companion Aide (CHCA®). Our caregivers successfully complete 8 hours of Initial Caregiver Training before their first client assignment and then begin their CCA® studies promptly.

In addition to training, all caregivers are thoroughly screened, bonded and insured. All caregivers are employees of Signal Point Home Care, so all state and federal taxes are handled by the company. We perform extensive reference, criminal and motor vehicle record checks. During the selection process we put a high priority on choosing those who have warm, compassionate personalities who are dependable. The end result is exceptional care for your family member!

If keeping your loved one at home is the best solution for high quality of life, Signal Point Home Care can assist in making that happen. We are committed to providing a complete set of non-medical in-home services to meet that goal. Whether it is a few hours or twenty-four hours a day, let us help put your mind at ease by knowing that your loved one’s daily living needs are being addressed in a professional, loving manner.

Our Founder

Richard Garner, Executive Director/Founder
Richard remembers, as a young boy, visiting his great aunt in LaFollette, Tennessee, where the family took personal, loving care of his Great Grandmother when she needed help. Family members lived close to one another and there was always someone home during the day. If there were challenges in caring for Grandma, Richard never heard about it; what he observed was a simple and impactful lesson about life and love… family cares for family.

And while family love remains as strong as ever in our community, some things have changed over the years. Family members often live miles away from Mom & Dad, or even if we live within easy driving distance of our parents and older loved ones, it’s most common for both men and women to work outside the home. Limitations of distance and time affect many families’ ability to care for our beloved elders who once cared for us.

Richard and his wife, Joanna, often think about the quality of life they want for their parents, and by extension, they think about the quality of life all seniors deserve. Through those thoughts and discussions they’ve realized a calling, to walk a path that benefits not only their own family, but their friends’ and neighbors’ families, too, by offering seniors the ability to enjoy a high-quality life in their own homes, for as long as possible. They do this through Signal Point Home Care, a home care agency dedicated to providing companion and personal care services in the homes of their clients.

Richard has spent a lifetime in and around the Chattanooga area; he’s a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with twenty-five years of experience in health care management for a major insurance company and hospitals. His leadership and experience allow him to develop an exceptional team of professional, compassionate caregivers who ensure that Signal Point Home Care consistently achieves their mission of raising the quality of life for seniors in the comfort of their own homes, keeping families connected and providing peace of mind for all.
